PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has departed for Ghana, where she will join other African leaders at a high-level conference on reparatory justice, before travelling to Tanzania for a State Visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

The President will attend the High-Level Consultative Conference on the Next Steps to the Landmark United Nations Resolution on the Trafficking of Enslaved Africans, taking place in Accra, Ghana, from 18 to 19 June 2026.
The conference, hosted by Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama in his capacity as African Union Champion for Reparations, brings together Heads of State and Government, policymakers, academics and other stakeholders to discuss the implementation of the United Nations resolution recognising the transatlantic slave trade and the enslavement of Africans as crimes against humanity.
