National Council parliamentarians have raised concerns over poor road infrastructure, saying it contributes to vehicle damage, rising transport costs and road accidents. The Ministry of Works and Transport’s budget was N$2.74 billion for the current financial year. During the budget debate on Monday, parliamentarian Laurentius Mukoya said deteriorating roads, especially in the Kavango East and Kavango West regions, are affecting service delivery and damaging vehicles.
