The Council of Churches in Namibia (CCN) has welcomed the government’s move to elevate the country’s housing and sanitation challenges to the level of a national emergency.

The churches are calling for urgent and concrete interventions to improve the living conditions of thousands of vulnerable Namibians.
In a statement released by CCN, secretary general James Fredericks said the worsening housing and sanitation crisis continues to deprive many Namibians of basic human dignity, particularly those living in informal settlements across the country.
