ULAN BATOR, June 22 — A human case of anthrax has been confirmed in Uvs province in western Mongolia, according to the country’s National Center for Zoonotic Diseases (NCZD) on Monday.

Preliminary epidemiological investigations indicate that the patient, a resident of Tes soum (administrative subdivision) of the province, was likely infected after coming into contact with a dead sheep last week.
