Phillipus Katamelo calls for united African action to address Sudan crisis

PHILLIPUS Wido Katamelo, Chairperson of the Pan-African Parliament Committee on Cooperation, International Relations and Conflict Resolution, has called for coordinated African-led efforts to address the ongoing security crisis in Sudan, warning that the conflict’s humanitarian consequences and human rights violations cannot be ignored.

Katamelo made the remarks during a joint sitting of the Pan-African Parliament’s Committee on Cooperation, International Relations and Conflict Resolution and the Committee on Justice and Human Rights, which deliberated on the security situation in Sudan, its humanitarian impact and the human rights situation in the country.
