President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah yesterday placed the creative industry at the centre of Namibia’s economic transformation, saying the sector has the potential to create jobs, grow businesses and drive national development if given the support it deserves.

Speaking at the official opening of the MTC Kasi Vibe Festival, she urged government, the private sector and communities to invest in young entrepreneurs and innovators. Nandi-Ndaitwah said the creative industry is a key driver of economic growth, saying it is no longer merely about entertainment but about creating businesses, jobs and wealth for the country.
Officially opening the inaugural MTC Kasi Vibe Festival at Brakwater Recreation Park yesterday, Nandi-Ndaitwah challenged young Namibians to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship, saying the country’s future depends on people who create opportunities rather than wait for them.
The President described the festival as proof that Namibians possess talent and business ideas but often lack platforms to showcase them.
